Hernia`

Symptoms-

Soft abdominal (or groin) swelling that is mildly to moderately painful.

Who is at risk?

Hernias are most common in infants, especially those born prematurely, the elderly and people who are obese. They can also develop in people with chronic  coughs, those whose job entail a lot of heavy lifting, and people with chronic constipation.

Some hernias, especially those in the broin area of young males, are due to a congenital weakness or malformation of the inguinal canal, the structure through which the testicles descend into the scrotum.
